Consent to conduct exploration drilling with Mærsk Giant in the southern North Sea

Pertra ASA (Pertra) has received consent to conduct exploration drilling of well 15/12-18 A and drilling of sidetrack 15/12-18 S which belong to production license 337.

The well is located approx. 240 km west of Egersund.

Mærsk Giant is a mobile jack-up drilling facility owned and operated by the A.P. Møller-Mærsk Group.

The facility was built at Hitachi in Japan, with completion in 1986. The Mærsk Giant can operate in waters up to 107 m deep, and can accommodate 87 persons on board.

The facility received an (AoC) in February 2002.

The drilling activity for Pertra will commence after the facility completes an assignment for Talisman Energy Norge AS (link). The duration of Pertra's drilling activity is estimated at 76 days.
