Well 7120/8-4, Askeladd Beta in the Barents Sea, is part of production license 064 and has the following geographic coordinates:
N 71° 28' 36.7", E 20° 26' 44.3".
The plan is to start drilling in early November 2007, and the activity has an estimated duration of 44 days.
Askeladd Beta's proven gas reserves will become part of the reserve basis for a decision to build a new LNG Train 2 facility on Melkøya island. The plan calls for the well to be permanently plugged back.
The Polar Pioneer (pictured) is operated by Transocean Offshore.
The facility received the PSA's (AoC) in May 2004.
