Consent to conduct manned underwater operations on Alvheim/Vilje

Norsk Hydro Produksjon a.s (Hydro) has received consent to conduct manned underwater operations in connection with tying the Vilje field to the Alvheim field.

The Vilje field is located in the North Sea, north of Heimdal. The field is being developed with two seabed structures tied in to the production ship on the Alvheim field, located about 19 km southwest of Vilje (see map).

Oil and associated gas will be routed through a new pipeline, 19 km towards the southwest, to the production ship on Alvheim for further processing and transport.

The purpose of the diving operation includes connecting pipelines and umbilicals from Vilje to the subsea structures on the Alvheim field.

Hydro will use Technip's vessel DSV Wellservicer for these diving operations which will commence around 20 August and last until December 2006.
