Aker Spitsbergen

Aker Spitsbergen is a mobile facility of Aker H-6e type, and is currently (along with Aker Barents) the world’s largest drilling facility.

The hull was built in Dubai, while completion and outfitting of the deck was carried out at the Aker Solutions' yard on Stord.

The facility received an Acknowledgement of Compliance (AoC) in June 2009 (link), and is operated by Aker Drilling Operation AS (Aker Drilling).
