Consent to use Borgland Dolphin on Tampen

Statoil ASA has received consent to use the mobile drilling facility Borgland Dolphin in the Tampen area.


Statoil currently has consent to use this facility in the Tampen area until 31 December 2006 (link).

The Borgland Dolphin will carry out production drilling, completion and well interventions up to the end of 2009.

The Borgland Dolphin is a semi-submersible Aker H3 type mobile facility which was built as a flotel at Bergen Mekaniske Verksted in 1976. It was modified in 1999 into a mobile drilling facility at Harlan and Wolff Shipbuilding and Heavy Industries Ltd in Belfast. The facility is owned by Fred Olsen Energy ASA and is operated by Dolphin a.s.
