The Glitne oil field, which came on stream at the end of August 2001, is located in the Sleipner area of the North Sea, about 40 kilometers northwest of Sleipner Øst.
To achieve higher oil production, the plan is to drill and complete a sixth production well (well 15/6-A-6 H) which will be tied into the FPSO Petrojarl I production installation.
Well clean-up will also carried out with the aid of the flare booms on the Deepsea Bergen (DSB).
Drilling operations are expected to commence in the first half of April 2004, as soon as DSB has completed an assignment on Heidrun. The drilling and completion operation will take about 92 days.
The Deepsea Bergen is an Aker H3-rig built in 1983 and owned by Odfjell Drilling AS. The installation secured the authorities' Acknowledgement of Compliance (AoC) in December 2001.
