Consent to use Deepsea Delta for production drilling on Vilje

Norsk Hydro Produksjon AS (Hydro) has received consent to use the mobile facility Deepsea Delta for production drilling on Vilje.

The Vilje field is located in the North Sea, north of the Heimdal field. The field is being developed with two subsea structures connected to the production facility (ship) on the Alvheim field, about 19 km southwest of Vilje.

Deepsea Delta (kilde: Odfjell)This consent relates to drilling, completion and clean-up of two wells. The activities are expected to last approx. 220 days. The wells were previously spudded with a separate seabed structure for each well.

The Deepsea Delta (pictured) is a third generation mobile drilling facility of the Ocean Ranger type, completed at Rauma Repola (Finland) in 1981. It has subsequently undergone a number of upgrades.

The Deepsea Delta is designed to conduct drilling, testing, completion and maintenance of exploration and production wells.

The Deepsea Delta, which is owned and operated by Odfjell Drilling, received the (AoC) in February 2004.
