The well to be drilled and completed prior to production is located on Tune Sør, west of Bergen (see map).
Water depth at the site is 92 metres. The plan is to start drilling on 1 November 2008, and the activity is expected to last 170 days.
The Deepsea Delta is a third generation, Ocean Ranger-type mobile drilling facility, commissioned at Rauma Repola (Finland) in 1981. The facility has subsequently undergone a number of upgrades.
The facility, which is owned and operated by Odfjell Drilling, received the Petroleum Safety Authority Norway's Acknowledgement of Compliance (AoC) in February 2004 (link).
