Consent to use of Oseberg Vestflanken

Norsk Hydro Produksjon AS has been given consent to the use of Oseberg Vestflanken. The application for the consent, among other things, includes start-up and operation of three oil-producing wells. The production from Vestflanken will be led into the production facility at Oseberg Field Centre.

The facility Oseberg Vestflanken consists of a subsea template structure with space for four wellheads. Three wellheads are being prepared at the moment. The last space is for potential future use.

In addition, a water injection well will be drilled from Oseberg Field Centre.

The Plan for Development and Operations (PDO) of Oseberg Vestflanken was approved in the Council of State on 19 December 2003, and approved by the Ministry of Petroleum and Energy on 7 January 2004.

Planned start-up for oil production from Vestflanken is 1 January 2006, depending on drilling progress, completion and testing.
