Consent to use Port Rigmar on Valhall

The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate has given BP Norge AS its consent to use Port Rigmar (formerly Rigmar 301, see photo) on the Valhall field. The rig will be used as living quarters during installation of the Valhall water injection platform.

The jack-up rig Rigmar 301 was originally built in Singapore in 1979. It was modified in Brevik (Norway) in 1992 and has since been used as living quarters. The rig is built to handle water depths of up to 82 meters.
