Consent to use Safe Scandinavia on Sleipner

The Petroleum Safety Authority Norway (PSA) has granted its consent to Statoil ASA to use the mobile installation Safe Scandinavia (photo) as a flotel on Sleipner. The company will use the Safe Scandinavia to accommodate personnel in connection with the Sleipner Vest Compression/Alfa Nord Project and planned shutdown in 2004.

The Safe Scandinavia is operated by Prosafe Offshore Ltd.

The activity will take place during the period mid-July to mid-October 2004.

In the consent letter, reference is made to our report following an audit of the Safe Scandinavia.

The consent is granted under the assumption that Statoil follows up the non-conformances listed in this report.
