Gassco is responsible for operation of the Tampen Link gas pipeline. The pipeline was built in connection with the Statfjord late phase project. According to the plan, the system will be ready for gas export from 1 October 2007. The 23.1 km pipeline links Statfjord B to the existing British Flags pipeline (see illustration).
Modifications on Statfjord tie Tampen Link to the existing pipelines on the Statfjord field and to the Gassled gas transport system, thus increasing the export capacity for gas from the Norwegian shelf.
In its capacity as development operator, Statoil submitted a revised plan for development and operation (PDO) for the Statfjord field and a plan for installation and operation (PIO) for Tampen Link to the authorities on 25 February.
The licensees in Tampen Link are Statoil (43.9%), ExxonMobil (18.2%), Shell (12.2%), Hydro (10.5%), ConocoPhillips (8.2%) and Petoro (7%).
