Consent to use Transocean Arctic on Tyrihans

StatoilHydro has received consent to use the mobile facility Transocean Arctic for drilling and completion of 11 injection and production wells on the Tyrihans field.

Tyrihans consists of the Tyrihans Sør and Tyrihans Nord fields (links to the NPD’s Fact Pages), which are located in the Norwegian Sea between Åsgard and Draugen (see map).

Location of Tyrihans

StatoilHydro’s development of Tyrihans is, in accordance with the Plan for Development and Operation of the field, based on subsea solutions where the oil and gas from the reservoirs will be drained with the aid of gas and water injection and gas lift. Oil, gas and water will be processed on Kristin through exploitation of existing capacity.

The total duration of the drilling activity is estimated at 1232 days.

The plan is to drill 12 wells on Tyrihans, but the last well will probably not be drilled until in 2015, and this is not part of this consent.

The Transocean Arctic is operated by Transocean Offshore (North Sea) Ltd NUF.
