Consent to use Transocean Spitsbergen

Statoil Petroleum as (Statoil) has received consent to use the Transocean Spitsbergen facility.

The consent relates to production drilling and completion for the Skuld field in production licence 128.

Water depth at the site varies from 343 to 360 metres.

The expected start-up for drilling is mid-July 2013. The duration of the activity is estimated at approx. 8 months.



Transocean Spitsbergen (photo) is a semi-submersible mobile drilling facility, type Aker H-6e. It was built in 2009 at Aker Stord, is registered in the Bahamas and classified in DnV. The facility received an Acknowledgement of Compliance (AoC) in July 2012
