Consent to use Transocean Winner on well 16/1-8

Consent: Lundin Norway AS has been granted consent to use the mobile facility Transocean Winner in the southern North Sea.

The consent applies to continuation of the exploration drilling activities on well 16/1- 8 (production testing and permanent plugging).

Exploration well 16/1-8 is part of production licence 338 and is located  approx. 185 kilometres west of Stavanger. The well was drilled by Bredford Dolphin in 2007 (link), and was then temporarily abandoned.

Transocean Winner

Transocean Winner (photo) is a third-generation semi-submersible drilling facility of the GVA-4000 design, built in 1983 at Gotaverken Arendal in Gothenburg, Sweden.

The facility is owned by Transocean Offshore, and is operated by Transocean Offshore (North Sea) Ltd NUF with headquarters in Stavanger.

Transocean Winner received the Petroleum Safety Authority Norway's Acknowledgement of Compliance (AoC) in August 2006 (link).
