No order issued to Statoil as notified

In connection with the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate's (NPD) report following an audit concerning the area emergency preparedness on the installations on Halten Nordland, a notification of order was issued to Statoil ASA. The company's subsequent measures entail that the NPD finds there is no longer any basis on which to issue this order.

During the audit the NPD was of the opinion that the Åsgard A installation did not comply with the regulatory requirements concerning man overboard preparedness.
The notification of order was issued on 21 November 2003.

The NPD accepts Statoil's compensatory measures, in that a standby vessel is deployed for close standby during work over the sea.

The company will implement this measure until the installation's MOB boat system no. 2 is in accordance with the Regulation's requirements.
