Notification of order following audit of anchoring on Bideford Dolphin

During our audit of the anchoring system on the Bideford Dolphin on Fram Øst on 30 May 2007, we uncovered elements including use of chains that were older than 1985 origin, as well as chains without certificates. Furthermore, fiber lines were being used that were not fully traceable, and there was no documentation of calibration of line tension measurements.

With this background, we have issued the following notification of order regarding both Bideford Dolphin and Borgland Dolphin, to Dolphin AS:

Pursuant to Section 3 of the Framework Regulations, cf. the Norwegian Maritime Directorate's Anchoring Regulations, Section 7, Items 2 and 3, and Section 8, Item 10, Dolphin is hereby ordered to review the documentation on all of the technical equipment in the anchoring systems on the Bideford Dolphin and the Borgland Dolphin, and to uncover deficiencies related to equipment and lines. Furthermore, Dolphin shall prepare a binding plan to ensure that the anchoring system is brought into order. The plan must also include compensatory measures in the period up to when the corrective measures have been implemented. The deadline for complying with the order is 1 July 2007.

We have asked the company to submit any comments it may have regarding the notification by 12 June 2007.
