Orders issued to Stena Don AS

The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD) has issued two orders to Stena Don AS following an audit of dynamic positioning (DP) and crane operations on the mobile installation Stena Don.


Excerpt from the NPD's letter dated 13 October 2003 with orders issued to Stena Don AS:

1. The NPD issues the following order pursuant to Section 10 of the Framework Regulations, Section 11 of the Management Regulations and Sections 19, 20 and 21 of the Activities Regulations.

Stena Don AS is ordered to implement necessary training and drills to comply with the requirements in current regulations (ref. Item 6.1 in the NPD's audit report for examples and deficiencies).

2. The NPD issues the following order pursuant to Sections 13, 15, 17 and 18 of the Framework Regulations, Sections 19, 20, 21 and 22 of the Management Regulations and Section 22 of the Activities Regulations.

Stena Don AS is ordered to conduct a review of the entire company's management system to comply with the requirements in current regulations. The company's management system must be further developed / updated and measures to ensure compliance must be implemented (ref. Items 6.1, 6.2, 6.3, 6.4 and 6.6 in the NPD's audit report for examples of deficiencies).

The deadline for implementing the orders is 15 January 2004.
