The audit reports of the PSA are published in their entirety online

From 1 September 2009, the Petroleum Safety Authority Norway (PSA) will publish its audit reports in their entirety at www.ptil.no, in order to contribute to maintaining high HSE standards in the petroleum industry through transfer of experience and building knowledge.

Since May 2003, we have published summaries of all our audit reports online – both in Norwegian and in English.

Our experience and feedback received from the industry indicate that these articles are in high demand and constitute an important source of transferred experience and lessons learned. The PSA has also noted that an increasing number of stakeholders apply for access to the audit reports themselves.

On this basis, we have decided to change our routines and publish all audit reports online in their entirety from 1 September 2009.

At the same time, we are also changing our templates so that the overview of personnel interviewed in connection with the audit is stored as an appendix to the audit report. This appendix will not be published on our website.
In English, we will continue to only publish summaries of the audit report.

Audits and verifications, which form the basis for our audit reports, make up only one small part of our audit activities. On our website, we also publish articles on the following audit-related areas:

  • Audit reports (only summaries in English)
  • Investigation reports
  • Notifications of orders
  • Brief consent reports
  • Reports of Acknowledgments of Compliance (AoC)
  • Identical letters to the industry (audit-related)

The information is published on our website when the company concerned has received the documents.
