The Petroleum Safety Authority Norway follows up the West Venture collision

The Petroleum Safety Authority Norway (PSA) is now following up the incident on the Troll field in the early morning hours of 7 March when the supply vessel "Far Symphony" bumped into one of the legs of the "West Venture" drilling rig (photo).


The PSA was notified of the incident at 03.30 hours.

No one was hurt in the collision, and the installation did not take on water. The installation will be transported to land for repairs and assessment of the damage.

The PSA will not institute an investigation of the incident, however two representatives have been sent to Bergen to assist in the police investigation.
