The PSA investigates fire on Åsgard B

The Petroleum Safety Authority Norway (PSA) has implemented an investigation of the fire on Åsgard B on Saturday, 15 October.

At 11.45 hours on Saturday, the PSA received notification of a fire in the area around the main generator on the Statoil operated facility Åsgard B, and on this background set up an emergency response center at Ullandhaug in Stavanger.

At 14.22 hours we were notified by the operator that the fire was extinguished.

The incident, which had a large potential, is being taken very seriously by the PSA.

On Saturday afternoon, the decision was made to implement an investigation and during the weekend, three individuals from the PSA set off for the facility.
