USA takes over responsibility for international R&D website

The PSA's sister organization in the USA, the Minerals Management Service (MMS), has taken over responsibility for further developing the website for the international authorities' forum ICRARD.

The PSA developed the website www.icrard.org and has been responsible for its operation and maintenance since the site was launched in October 2004.

MMS will be responsible for operating the site for the next two years; formally taking over the reins during an event held in Washington last week.

About the website: www.icrard.org describes research and development projects in the area of health, safety and environment in the petroleum activities. It also offers a unique search engine that exclusively searches for relevant HSE information on selected Internet addresses.

This year, the website has had about 700 unique users per month. This represents an increase of nearly 40 percent compared with the traffic recorded in 2006.

About ICRARD: International Committee on Regulatory Research and Development - ICRARD - was established in 1994 as an arena for sharing information and experience within HSE research in the petroleum activities. This was an initiative by the authorities in the USA, Canada, the United Kingdom and Norway. Other countries have also joined this cooperative forum over the years.

The ICRARD members meet once each year. The PSA is hosting this year's event, which will be held on 12-13 September. Director Øyvind Tuntland represents the PSA in ICRARD.
