Report following audit of electrical installations – Eldfisk Bravo

The Petroleum Safety Authority Norway (PSA) conducted an audit of the electrical installations on Eldfisk Bravo during the period 9-12 August 2010. No nonconformities in relation to the regulations were identified.


The audit is based on the guidelines provided in the PSA’s main priorities for 2010, regarding follow-up of technical and operational barriers. The audit also encompasses experiences from previous audits both with COPSAS and the industry in general.

Technical and operational barriers

The audit was carried out by means of a kick-off meeting on 13 April 2010 where personnel in the operations organisation in Tananger participated, with subsequent verifications, function tests and interviews with personnel on Eldfisk Bravo during week 32.

The audit is based on the guidelines provided in the PSA’s main priorities for 2010, regarding follow-up of technical and operational barriers. The audit also encompasses experiences from previous audits both with COPSAS and the industry in general.

Goal
The goal of the audit was to gain an overview of COPSAS’ systems and work processes for managing technical and operational barriers related to electrical installations on Eldfisk Bravo, and to assess this in relation to applicable requirements.

The audit did not identify any nonconformities in relation to the regulations.

The audit report includes two observations where there is room for improvement. These are linked to deficient maintenance and deficient disconnection of ignition sources.
