The Petroleum Safety Authority Norway (PSA) has completed its investigation of the liquefied natural gas (LNG) leak in Equinor’s Hammerfest LNG plant at Melkøya on 17 June 2018. Several breaches of the regulations have been identified.

We have carried out an audit of Equinor and its planning and execution of materials handling, crane and lifting operations, scaffolding and work at height at the Mongstad facility in Hordaland. We observed several breaches of the regulations and have now notified the company of an order.
