Audit of Rowan Norway

The Petroleum Safety Authority Norway (PSA) carried out an audit of Rowan Drilling Norway AS (Rowan) on 20 August 2012.

The objective of the audit was to follow up that Rowan has conducted the necessary measurements and measures to ensure that Rowan Norway complies with the petroleum regulations for maritime systems and load-bearing structures.

Nonconformities were identified in connection with:

  • NDE control
  • First-year inspection of load-bearing structures
  • Fatigue analyses

Furthermore, improvement items were identified in relation to:

  • Watertight doors
  • The DNV standards

Rowan Norway received an Acknowledgement of Compliance on 21 Dec. 2012
One of the conditions for the PSA granting an AoC is that all safety-critical nonconformities be corrected.
After the AoC has been granted, the shipowner is responsible for ensuring that the organisation, management systems and facility’s technical condition always comply with the regulations.
