An operator must obtain consent from the regulator at important milestones. This system ensures that the operator has established good checkpoints for its activities, and that its key decisions are subject to government control.
We have carried out a major accident audit of Esso Norge AS (Esso) at Slagentangen.
We have carried out an audit of Equinor Energy AS (Equinor) focused on the company’s follow-up of steel pipes, steel risers and control cables for the northern operating area.
In April and May 2018, we held a series of meetings with selected participants in order to gather knowledge about the maintenance of barriers for subsea facilities involved in the Norwegian petroleum activities. The companies which we followed up were Aker BP, Equinor, Shell, Subsea 7, Technip FMC, Oceaneering and Deep Ocean.
We have carried out an audit of technical safety and emergency preparedness, with assistance from the Civil Aviation Authority Norway, on Åsgard A. The audit was conducted in the period from 29 October to 8 November 2018.
On 22 and 23 November 2018, we carried out a major accident audit of Gassco at Nyhamna. The subject of the audit was emergency preparedness, follow-up of last year’s major accident audit and implementation of new requirements in the Major Accident Regulations.
We have carried out an audit of Equinor and technical safety on Troll C. The audit was conducted between 15 and 19 October 2018.
We have carried out an audit of Gassco and their operation and maintenance of the concrete culvert for the Statpipe pipelines.
Equinor has received consent to use the Deepsea Atlantic mobile drilling facility for drilling and well operations on the Fram field.
On 21 November 2018, we carried out an audit of the company’s own follow-up of its arrangements for employee participation.
We have given Equinor consent for exploration drilling of well 7132/2-2 in the Barents Sea.
