Growing activity in the far north of the Norwegian continental shelf related to exploration and further development of discoveries has turned the spotlight on this region in recent years. That has been accompanied by discussion on whether the industry knows enough about the health, safety and environmental challenges in these areas.

Although the industry has done a lot to close knowledge gaps in recent years, the PSA has seen a need to learn more. PSA  identified several areas where we have initiated our own projects for knowledge acquisition.

Some 15 projects have been defined, and the programme will run until 2019.

Results
At the Arctic Safety 2018 conference, the PSA will present results from its completed projects and the status of the most important safety-related work still under way.

Representatives from Norwegian and foreign oil companies, government agencies, employers association and unions will also share their experiences.

Arctic Safety is an important meeting place and a key arena for discussion on the challenges for safe petroleum operations in the far north.
